NU Club Running had many remarkable performances at the Suffolk Invite this past weekend! After months of training, the sprint squad and mid-distance crew finally got the opportunity to take the track against NCAA college teams.

The men’s side took 5th overall, lead by Matt Petrocelli crushing the Mile-3K-5K triple (coming 2nd overall in the 5K) and sprint captain Brandon Onyejekwe setting a new 600m club record. The men’s 4x200m team (Cole Gaynor, Marco Grados, Joey Tsai, Trevor Wozny) also set a new club record, and the distance squad featured in the most highly-anticipated race of the season. Three teams (Team Alex, Team Jonah, and Team Randos) competed in the coveted NUCR DMR battle, with Team Alex coming out on top of the tightly contested race!

The women’s team also had a successful meet, coming 7th overall. Daniella Tesfaye led the way in the field events, tying the club long jump record in 4.89m. On the track, the women’s team had a trio of club #2 all time performances: Alex Lincoln in the 400m, Rose McDonnell in the 3000m, and the women’s 4x200m team (Katie Billman, Geneva Fischer, Nicole Milnes, Alex Lincoln).

The Suffolk meet was a great way to cap off the Fall 2022 season, and we anticipate even better performances in the spring!
